Not a thing but a person: my boyfriend, Raisin

I met Raisin about 5 years ago. We had mutual friends, he wanted to get to know more people and so he contacted me through Facebook. We sent mails (first via FB and then later email) back and forth for weeks, maybe months, until we agreed to meet. We went on a date but it wasn't official and although we liked each other, nothing ever came of it. Until Dec '11 when my boyfriend of 2.5 years broke up with me 2 weeks before my birthday. I was devastated! Everything in life seemed to suck and I wasn't interested in much anymore. (Lots of you probably know what that feels like).

Anyway, fast forward to Sept '12 when Raisin and I started chatting again and realized how much we had in common. And this time we had the guts to tell each other that we liked each other. Suddenly life seemed hopeful again. I checked my phone a million times a day for any sign of communication from him. I couldn't wait to chat with him in the evenings (we were living in different countries). And I needed a date for my best friend's wedding, so I invited him to come with me and he accepted.

That December he flew a long way to accompany me to my friend's wedding and we started dating. The past 8 (nearly 9) months of being his girlfriend has been the greatest time of my life. I have met the guy I want to marry (5 years ago *haha*). Of course, it wasn't always easy (especially the long distance the first 6 months) but it has been more than worth it. I really can't wait to be with him for the rest of my life!

But let me tell you about Raisin... He is a great guy! He is loving, caring, loyal, honest, supportive, a hard worker, lots of fun and a little crazy. He understands me very well and sometimes he really does know me better than I know myself. He pays attention to every little part of my being. He loves to spoil me. Sometimes I feel like I can't keep up with him, like I'm not spoiling him enough but he seems to be OK with that (even though I'm not). As long as I am happy... He is the sweetest guy I know and I love him with all of my heart. He is my best friend and the love of my life.

I love you, Raisin xxx

Dogs

Like a big majority of people on this planet, I love dogs. I think they are smart, cute, loving and great companions. I am, however, weary of "unfamiliar" dogs after I was attacked by one when I was 10. Still, that didn't change my love for them. And my boyfriend soon learned how much I love them; every time I spot one, I go: "oh cuuuuuuute!".
Two types of small breeds have come to be my absolute favourite aka I would choose one of these two if ever I have to pick a puppy. And they are:

The French Bulldog! Just look at the face! How can you not love such a cute little thing!? French Bulldogs are known to be loyal, playful and affectionate. They are intelligent but can be quite stubborn. They originally come from England where the Bulldog was bred with terriers and pugs to "create" a smaller breed of dog. This dog became hugely popular in France and was later given the French name "Bouledogue Francais".

And...

The West Highland Terrier! What a sweet little face! The "Westie" is an active, social and loyal dog. But it will not tolerate rough handling and it can be possessive. They originate from Scotland and are the cousins to the "Scottish Terrier".

Do you have a favourite breed of dog?

Teapots

I love tea! I drink a lot of tea. I drink it in the morning, throughout the day and just before bed. I drink more tea than coffee, Coke and all types of juices combined. And luckily I have found a boyfriend and best friend who enjoy drinking tea as much as I do. I will admit, though, that I'm quite boring when it comes to the flavour of tea... I stick to one flavour: english breakfast tea. On very rare occasions I will drink berry-flavoured tea or "rooibos".

Anyhow, to get a good cup of tea, you have to brew it in a good teapot. Over the years, teapots have gone from functional to decorative. And today, there are so many funky and cute designs out there. Like this one:

Isn't it cute?? I got this one from my boyfriend. We were strolling in and out of shops in Denmark and I saw this one and fell totally in love. I like the colours and the little heart on top. Too cute! So about 2months later, my boyfriend shows up one day with a surprise...tada!!

Here are some more examples of really cute teapots:

Toaster teapots... Aren't they too adorable??

This one takes you back to the 50's :) A jukebox teapot. How utterly funky!

And how sweet (excuse the pun) is this one...

Love, love, love teapots! If you have a nice teapot, feel free to share it with us :)

Tatty teddy

I just love, love, looooove teddie bears. Well, actually, most stuffed toys. And my absolute favorite is "Tatty teddy". I have 3 so far and would love so many more (but that might be a little childish). My favorite is called "Beertje" (dutch for "teddy").

What a cutie! The other two are called "Small" (because it's the smallest of the 3) and "Majom" (hungarian for "monkey" because it looks like a little monkey). My boyfriend got them for me because he knows how much I love Tatty Teddy but mainly to remind me of him (we were dating long-distance for a while). Some mornings when he leaves for work and I crawl back into bed, he tucks "Beertje" in with me :)

Are there any other fans of stuffed toys out there??

Iphone covers

I have never really been into technology. In fact, I have never even owned a new mobile phone (they are always "hand me downs"). So naturally I do not get excited when a new smart phone is being released or that Xbox 1 is coming out. But, my boyfriend does. And when he got a new iPhone 5, he "handed me down" his iPhone 4. I wasn't utterly excited but it would make communication between us easier via WhatsApp. Being the sweetheart that he is, he offered to buy me a cover that I like (I wasn't obligated to keep the one he had).
And this is what I chose (gives it a retro look *yeah man*):

An old cassette... I am so happy and absolutely love it! My mom used to have tons of cassettes and she was VERY precise when recording songs from the radio (we had to be super duper quiet while she was taping).

I have seen some other pretty darn cool covers, like this one:

If this was available, I think I would have gone with this. I used to love the old telephones when I was a kid and would ring that dial a million times. You know why? Because of the awesome sound it makes!!

I love photography and my camera is one of my best "friends". It travels around in my handbag with me. This is another design I would love on my iPhone:

Isn't that super cool??

My boyfriend is a big fan of the old VW minibusses (not quite sure why). So if I had this one, I would always think of him:

Too cute, isn't it??

Please, let me know what cool and funky covers you are sporting on your iPhone?
